The human brain contains approximately 3 trillion neurons! So in this melon sized brain of ours there are only so many functional units, interconnecting, forming our thoughts and controlling our actions.
And when you are in a big decision making phase of your life, say getting married or having kids or starting a new job, retiring or in my case, being on the verge of graduating, life can become really overwhelming.
You keep thinking about unlimited possibilities of how your life can be, the things you want to see, do, own or achieve which is in my case is, a big shoe closet and a physically and mentally challenging yet oh so satisfying kick ass job that it makes my soul dance, to say the least.
So thinking about these huge plans and different ways to achieve them kinda overwhelm, tire and scare me to the core!
So what to do now?
From whatever little experience I have, I say just breathe.
Breathe in. Breathe out.
Concentrate on the thing which you have in your hand right now. Complete your graduation. Spend some more time with your potential partner. Make an achievable and a fantastic bucket list for your post retirement period. And BREATHE.
Appreciate what you have in this moment, express gratitude as there was a time you wished for you to be exactly where you are.
Don’t get ahead of yourself. Overthinking is the most real buzzkill there is you know?!
Cross that bridge when you come to it.
And remember to keep faith in a superior power which is there to guide and support you in all your endeavours.
Lots of love,
Brown girl on a budget 🙂
