Mute that background noise to hear clearly.

People often say overthinking is problematic. Let things unfold on their own.

Many a times this is the case. And we should not hover over every single detail of that thing bothering us.

Then there is another thing we do, Constant thinking. It’s like my brain cannot shut up and even when I have nothing on my mind whatsoever, it picks out a topic on its own which can range from the lyrics of a really annoying irrelevant song to a really painful memory from the past.

We become so used to this constant background chatter in our mind that we don’t realise it.

I didn’t. Until I came across an article which emphasized on meditating. And I was pretty sure that I won’t be able to go ahead with it. But one thing from that article stuck in my head. And resurfaced in this very process of constant thinking.

There was a mention about an app called *Headspace*.

It has a preliminary 10 day trial course where we are taught meditating in a way we can actually follow.

And bammmmm!!!!!!!

I learnt how to pause that chattering in the back of my mind.!!

The peace you experience is something I cannot explain but I urge you to try it.

Sit comfortably in silence and try to shut that chatter up.

It will increase your efficiency by leaps and bounds and improve your mental health.

Give it a try. Again, won’t take more than 7 minutes. Yes, you might not be able to do it one your first try. Give it 10 days. And do let me know what you think.

The app is not a must if you can practice meditation on your own.

Lots of love,

Brown girl on a budget 🙂

Meditation is a powerful way to stay in NOW, the present. The chatting is always of past or future not present. Very nicely written. Enjoyed reading 👍
